Many people read and study the Bible as the “Word of God”.
But the same Bible can bring 1000’s of different interpretations, debates, arguments, divisions, denominations, conflicting theologies, etc.
People debate over every imaginable thing in the Bible.
But the entire Bible is fulfilled in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 3 “15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. “
The old testament was the Law and that was fulfilled in the person of Jesus
Galatians 3 “22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.”
The Bible in itself is not the “word of God” or holy because it was written by fallible men and constantly debated by people who study it – resulting in 1000s of denominations and divisions.
If the Bible was the perfect flawless word of God then it would not have resulted in so much debate and division.
But there is no debate over the person of Jesus Christ.
John 5 “39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, “
We don’t receive Grace by the Bible but by the person to whom the Bible points to.
John 20 “31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
The entire Bible is summed up in Jesus Christ and His grace.
All theology and debates are secondary compared to Jesus Christ crucified.
1 Corinthians 2 “2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. “
We are forgiven, justified, righteous, perfect, blameless, washed, sanctified, blessed by the grace of Jesus who died for our sins and rose from the dead.
1 Corinthians 6 “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Ephesians 2 ” 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. “
Romans 4 “5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness….apart from works: —for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
2 Corinthians 5 ” 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Romans 3 “21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.”
We are complete in the grace of Jesus Christ and not by theologies and Bible-studies.
Colossians 2 “8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. 9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. 11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised by Christ, 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”
The last words of the Bible are these:
Revelation 22 “21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.“
Once we know Jesus, we know the Grace of God, and the Bible has been fulfilled.
All debates and divisions are over in the Grace of Jesus Christ.
