Jesus SAT DOWN after finishing the work of making believers PERFECTLY SINLESS

HEB 10 “4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:…..“Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.“

The Law demanded perfect works but nobody could do it.

Man was a sinner under law.

They kept REPEATING the SAME WORKS but FALLING SHORT forever, trying to be holy in their works and failing and confessing/repenting, offering animal sacrifices…but it could never take away their sins and never make them righteous.

So their WORK WAS NEVER FINISHED.

Therefore Jesus came and obeyed the Law, doing all the righteous deeds that man cannot do!

His obedience attained Righteousness.

Then He died on the cross to take away our sins, forgiving it ALL.

His blood made us PERFECTLY SINLESS.

He FORGAVE ALL our sins.

Then HE SAT DOWN because the WORK is FINISHED.

He made us RIGHTEOUS and PERFECT and HOLY FOREVER.

HEB 10 “11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy.“

Today many Christians are doing the same mistake as the Jews under law.

They are trying to become like Jesus in their works.

They try to keep the law by trying to follow Jesus and fail.

Then they confess their sins every Sunday.

They keep REPEATING this every time because the work is never finished for them!!!

They are NOT RESTING in the finished work of Jesus.

Jesus ALREADY DID all the WORKS so we are saved by His death and resurrection by GRACE through faith NOT our works!

God ALREADY SEATED us in heaven, made us ALIVE with Christ.

EPH 2 “4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”

We are seated with Christ because Jesus did all the good works.

We are raised with Christ after Jesus forgave all our sins.

Therefore God does not ask us to do the works Jesus did.

He is not asking us to become like Jesus.

He is not looking at our works or sins.

He ALREADY MADE US SINLESS and RIGHTEOUS because Jesus already did the righteous deeds and forgave all our sins.

WE ARE SEATED in CHRIST DOING NOTHING….AT REST because JESUS FINISHED THE WORK.

This is what happened to a believer:

We did not do any good works to be saved.

Jesus did all the good works in His life.

Jesus died for all our bad works on the cross.

Jesus FORGAVE all our sins.

We were dead in sin but God raised us up with Christ when we believed.

We were seated in Christ in heaven AFTER God saved us.

God is not commanding you to do anything because Jesus already did the work and SAT DOWN.

God is not commanding Jesus to do anything and therefore He is not commanding us either.

Jesus already did righteous deeds, and we have His righteousness seated with Him.

You are SEATED in Christ, PERFECTLY righteous and sinless as Jesus is !!

Since we are already righteous, there are no works for us to do…

We just REST in the Righteousness that God has given us!
