Righteous by faith in the power of God (Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection) and not our works.

The Gospel is that we become Righteous by faith in Jesus.
We believe in the power of God unto salvation.

Romans 1 “16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.””

Habakkuk said that righteousness is by faith.
He was a Jew living in exile but was not discouraged by the suffering of Israel and believed in God’s promise of salvation.

Habakkuk 2-3 “the righteous person will live by faith…..Though the fig tree does not bud….though there are no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.”

Abraham did not trust in his own works but became righteous by faith because He believed in God’s power.

Romans 4 “What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? 2 If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3 What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”…..
18 Against all hope, Abraham….was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.””

Abraham did not have power to have a child, but God called him the father of nations – Abraham believed God and was righteous.

In the same way, we accept that we don’t have the power to be righteous by works…..We don’t look at our works….

But we believe in the power of God that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead to be righteous by faith and not our works!

Romans 4 “5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. ….. God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”

Jesus died for our sins to forgive all our sins.
God raised Him to make us Righteous by faith.

We are Righteous by faith in Jesus and not in our works.
This is the power of God, the power of His great love and grace!
