Consider the most noble man/woman that you may have known. Maybe it was someone who loved others, did good deeds, stood up against injustice, etc. But no matter how many good deeds that person did, he/she died and went back to the grave. Its because no matter how good a person is, they are sinners who fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:11 ““There is no one righteous”

Romans 3 “²⁰ Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin…. ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

This is why even the most moral people in the world die and return to the grave.

Romans 6:23 “²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Everyone dies because people are not righteous as God.

Man’s best deeds are nothing but filthy rags and dead works that cannot attain immortality.

Isaiah 64:6 “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;”

The righteousness of God is infinitely valuable and that is why He is immortal.

In mathematical terms, “Infinity” is the an undefinable large value that no man can estimate.

The truth is that some people maybe good in the eyes of the world but they are nothing compared to the righteousness of God.

In Mathematics, the number 1 is nothing compared to infinity. The number 1,000,000 (million) is nothing compared to infinity. The number 1,000,000,000,000 (trillion) is still nothing compared to infinity.

Man’s works are nothing compared to the infinite righteousness of God.

So then, man’s good works cannot attain God’s righteousness and that is why nobody lives forever and we all die.

But God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ who is God who came in the flesh.

John 10:30 “³⁰ I and the Father are one.”

John 14:9 “⁹ Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.”

Jesus did not sin but He displayed the perfect righteousness of God in the human form.

This is why Jesus died on the cross to remove all our sins because He is God who became a man to die for our sins. He finished the work.

Romans 4 “God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. ²⁵ He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”

Jesus rose from the dead because He is infinitely righteous. All the entire world’s sins could not keep Him dead, but His perfect righteousness eradicated our sins. That is why He rose from the dead.

Man can do no works to be righteous – it is impossible.

Man’s good works are garbage compared to the righteousness of God that we receive by faith in Jesus.

Philippians 3 “If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more….; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless….I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them (my works) garbage,  ⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. “

Everyone who believes in Jesus receives the Infinite Righteousness of God as a free gift.

Romans 3 “²¹ But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. ²² This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ²⁵ God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.”

The believer has the infinite righteousness of God, the sinless perfection given to us as a FREE GIFT.

Romans 5 “¹⁷ For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

That is why the believer will live forever with God and Jesus in the new world to come.

John 6 “³⁹ And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. ⁴⁰ For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.””

The believer is sinless and perfect having the infinite glory and righteousness of Jesus. We receives this without doing any works but only by faith in Jesus through His death and resurrection!

Colossians 2 “⁹ For in Christ all the PERFECTION of GOD lives in bodily form, ¹⁰ and in Christ you have been brought to PERFECTION…..having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. ¹³ When you were dead in your sins God made you alive with Christ. He FORGAVE us ALL our sins,
