The entire world is dead in sin because nobody is righteous/perfect in their works.
Romans 5 “12…..death came to all people, because all sinned—”
But God so loved the world that He sent His sinless and righteous Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins and He was buried and then raised from the dead.
Romans 5 “8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Corinthians 15 “3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”
John 3 “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life……whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
Everyone who believes in Jesus is forgiven all sin and is made righteous as God Himself.
Romans 4 “5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness….who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
If Jesus did not rise from the dead then we are still in our sins.
1 Corinthians 15 ” 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.”
But Christ did rise from the dead and He was witnessed by Paul, 12 Apostles, James, and 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:5-8)
Therefore those who believe in Jesus are not in sin anymore. Believers are not sinners anymore. Believers are forgiven ALL sin and righteous and as perfect as Jesus Himself!
Colossians 1 ” 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith”
Colossians 2 “12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.”
Colossians 2 “13 When you were dead in your sins…God made you ALIVE with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,”
Colossians 2 “9 For in Christ all the perfection of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to perfection.”
You see, dear believer, that you are not a sinner because Jesus died with you and raised you up with Himself.
Believers are not “dead in sin” anymore but we are “alive in Christ”, “sinless in Christ”, “righteous in Christ” because He rose from the dead to live in us!
It is not you who live but the risen Christ who is in you – so that we are Righteous by faith and not works!
Galatians 2 “So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be righteous by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified…..20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.””
Those who do not believe in Jesus are dead in sin as sinners.
But Jesus lives in us believers because He rose from the dead to make us sinless, perfect, righteous by faith, by grace, not our works! It is because God raised us up with Christ and seated us in heaven!
Ephesians 2 “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,……. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. “
Jesus will come back to give us glorified immortal resurrected bodies – His righteousness in full manifestation!
1 Corinthians 15 “20 Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come“
Philippians 3 “20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
Galatians 5:5 “5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.”
