Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Bible and ALL things! He is the purpose of our life.

What is the purpose of reading the Bible?

2 Timothy 3 “the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

John 20 “31 But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

Many people read the Bible looking for morality, good works, spiritual disciplines, spiritual techniques, theologies, doctrines, ideas, etc….but you will not find salvation in any of those things.

Jesus told the Pharisees to stop studying the Bible in search of those things but come to Jesus for eternal life!

John 5 “39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.”

Many people look at the Bible to see all the good works we need to do, but the true fulfillment is that only Jesus did the perfectly righteous work of dying on the cross to make us righteous without our works!

Romans 5 “18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

The death and resurrection of Jesus made us righteous without our works.

Romans 4 “to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. ….God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”

The cross of Jesus made us holy, sanctified, and perfect, and COMPLETE.

Hebrews 10 “10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all…..14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy.”

Colossians 2 “For in Christ all the perfection/fullness of GOD lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness/perfection/completion. “

So you see, that when you believe in Jesus, you are made sinless, perfect, righteous, holy, sanctified by His death and resurrection.

You have fulfilled everything, Your purpose in life is complete. You don’t need any improvement because Jesus made you perfect by His blood. What more can you do? Nothing !!!

Some Christians tell us to pray more, believe more, fast, repent, tithe, go to Church, keep the Sabbath, do many good deeds to come closer to God and be more like Jesus. But they ignore the fact that the death of Jesus made us perfect without needing any more improvements!

Let us take an example of keeping the Sabbath, which many Christians incorrectly think is the “Sunday Church day”. The truth is that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Sabbath. We enter the “Rest” of God by faith in Jesus. Once you believe in Jesus, you have entered the rest and don’t need to worry about the “sabbath day”.

Colossians 2 “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ…..13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. ….16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

The law ended on the cross because Jesus did everything to forgive us ALL sins and make us righteous and perfect. So then God is not asking you to keep the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday! Its because Jesus removed all such commands. His death fulfilled everything to save us! By faith in Jesus, you have kept the Sabbath and the entire law.

Hebrews 4:3 “Now we who have believed enter that rest,”

BTW, the law does not even exist today because the death of Jesus removed the law. There is no law today. The 10 commandments was replaced by faith in Jesus.

Romans 10: Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”

Hebrews 8:13 “13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”

Galatians 3 “24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.”

Galatians 2 “know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified….19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!””

God is not asking you to pray and fast to become closer to Him. Its because Jesus died on the cross to remove all such demands.

Fasting is a time of sadness because of sins and a sign that you are desperately seeking something from God. Jesus never asked his disciples to fast because they were feasting with Him. The only time they fasted was when He died because of their great sadness.

But today Jesus lives in us and therefore we have all the spiritual blessings. We are ONE with Christ and therefore we rejoice and feast with no need to fast or sit in sackcloth and ashes! We have the joy of the Lord because of His great salvation! We are already forgiven so we should REJOICE with feasting and happiness, not be fasting with sadness.

Philippians 4 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice”

Luke 15 ““But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”

We are feasting because Jesus died to save us make us ALIVE, forgiven ALL sins!

We are not called to tithe our firstfruits to the Church because JESUS is our tithe, He is the Firstfruit raised from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15 “20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”

We are not called to go to the Temple/Church to meet God because Christ and the Father lives in us and we are the Temple and the Church.

John 14 “My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

1 Corinthians 6 “17 But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.”

Ephesians 2 “19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

We are not called to offer sacrifices of our tears/good works/money because Christ died as a sacrifice to save us.

We are not called to fast and tithe because Jesus died on the cross.

The Father does not ask His children to fast or tithe but feast and enjoy Christ.

We are not called to become like Jesus because Jesus already made us holy, perfect and righteous by the Cross.

We are not called to carry the cross and follow Jesus because we were already crucified with Jesus and raised with Him and seated in heaven as Sons of God !! Jesus did the work and we enjoy the benefits without working for it.

Ephesians 2 “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,…..But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast”

Believers dont need to repent and confess sins for salvation because we are already forgiven all sins

1 John 2 “I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.”

We cannot even sin because Jesus took away all our sins.

1 John 3 “You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him. Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin.”

Jesus made the believer sinless and perfect.

What is the purpose of our life?

The purpose of life is not about being a good person and making money and having great possessions and things because life on earth is short. Everything in this material world will perish and is eventually has no eternal purpose. The only thing that matters is believing in Jesus to have eternal life in the new world to come!

1 John 2 “16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. 17 The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.”

John 3:16 ” 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

You see that everything is about the Death and Resurrection of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 2 “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.”

Adam & Eve, the law, Abraham’s works, the ten commandments, tithing, fasting, praying, confessing, repenting, carrying the cross, the teachings, theologies are all nothing compared to the DEATH and RESURRECTION of JESUS CHRIST. If you know only one thing, then know what Jesus did for you and you will be complete !!

Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead so that everyone who believes in Jesus is forgiven ALL sins, made perfectly righteous and complete not needing to do any works!

The work is finished. Its all about Jesus. We don’t need to do anything as believers. Our purpose on earth is fulfilled. God is well pleased with you when you believe in Jesus and nothing more is required because He made you perfect by His death and resurrection. We are seated in heaven and waiting for His return.

We just wait till He comes back and gives us the glory He promised by raising the dead and giving us immortal bodies and minds.

Hebrews 9 “28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.”

Colossians 3 “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.”

Colossians 1 “27 to whom God was pleased to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

We were dead in sin. But Jesus died with us to forgive our sins. He rose from the dead to live in us and give us eternal life. We were seated in heaven with Him. And therefore we wait for Him to complete the redemption by giving us new bodies on the last day.

That way the entire Bible and our lives are fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.
