There is NO NEED to DO WORKS / Follow Jesus after the Law disappeared in AD70. ONLY BELIEVE in Jesus to be saved.

The Apostles commanded believers to follow Jesus in baptism, repenting from sin and loving others.

But all of this was to fulfill the law of Moses.

Leviticus 19 “18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.”

John 13 “34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

This was not a new command. Loving others was part of the law.

That is why Paul said that believers had to follow Jesus in loving others to fulfill the law.

Romans 13 “8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law…..11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”

The “present time” was the LAST DAYS of the Law.

That is why the Apostles commanded believers to FOLLOW Jesus in carrying the cross, loving one another, repenting from sins, baptism, selling everything.

1 Corinthians 7 “29 What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; 30 those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; 31 those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.”

1 John 2 “This is the LAST HOUR”

Hebrews 1 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,”

James 5 “in the last days”

1 Peter 4 “7 The end of all things is near.”

The LAW was in its last days!

Hebrews 8 “13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”

The law and prophets were FULFILLED when Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70

Luke 21 “20 “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.”

The Law ended in AD70.

Today there is no law.

Therefore no commandment to follow Jesus.

No commandment to do any works.

No commandment to love one another.

No repentance.

No baptism.

No commandments at all.

Only believe in Jesus to be saved without any works.

Believe in Jesus to be righteous without works.

Believe in Jesus to receive eternal life.
