The commandments of Jesus and Apostles was about fulfilling the LAW until AD70.

The commandments of Jesus and Apostles was about fulfilling the LAW until AD70.

John 13 “34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you MUST love one another.”

Most Christians think that this commandment is OPTIONAL.
But please for God’s sake, read the text….
It was a MUST because Love was required to fulfill the LAW.

Romans 13 “8 Let no DEBT remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.”

It was a DEBT that the believer had to FULFILL.

This is because “loving others” was not a “new” command but it was from the Law of Moses:

The commandment came from the Law:

Leviticus 19:18 “ “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.”

When God gives a commandment, it MUST be obeyed and is not optional.

What would happen if the believer did NOT obey it?
Read on…..

James 2 “8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. “

Matthew 6 “15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

You see, how the believer was JUDGED by the same LAW.

The reason they were given the Holy Spirit was to OBEY the LAW and be saved in the end.

Romans 8 ” 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Romans 8 “12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live”

You see the Biblical faith required the obedience to the law by following Jesus in loving others.

Jesus commanded them to love like He did….to be PERFECT according to the law to FULFILL it in Righteousness.

Matthew 5 “17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them….20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven……

Matthew 5 “43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven…..48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

If they disobeyed then they were judged as lawbreakers and needed to confess sins to be forgiven/saved all over again.

1 John 1 “If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. “

James 5 “If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other”

You see the Biblical 1st Century Church were REQUIRED to FULFILL the LAW by FOLLOWING Jesus.

Its because they lived in the LAST DAYS of the LAW
and they had to WALK like JESUS…

1 John 2 “18 Dear children, this is the last hour……. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.”

The Bible was written by Jews living in the last days of the Law

Hebrews 1 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, “

Hebrews 8 “13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”

The LAW ENDED in AD70.
God stopped writing His law in the heart of believers.
God stopped giving the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today there is no law.
Today there is no commandment to follow Jesus.
There is no commandment to love others because there is no law.

There are NO COMMANDMENTS AT ALL …..

Jesus finished the work in removing the law and sin.
Jesus removed all commandments.

Jesus removed all sins.

Only Believe in Jesus to be saved….
