Transition from Law to Grace in Jesus

Do you know that even the Bible writers and Apostles didn’t fully understand the Gospel of Grace?

In the Old testament, they had believed for 1500+ years that righteousness was by the law (Deut 6:5)

But after they failed and Jesus came, and sent the Apostles preaching the New Covenant message of Forgiveness of sins and Justification by faith in Jesus.

Paul preached that we are righteous by faith and not works (Romans 4, Ephesians 2)

But even then they were still believing in the Judgment of works according to the moral law (Romans 2, James 2, Revelation 20, 2 Corinthians 5)

This is because the law was passing away in stages.

On the cross, the ceremonial law ended, allowing Gentiles to be righteous by faith without circumcision.

But the Apostles still believed that God would judge everyone by works of moral law even after they became believers.

That is why the Apostles preached a lot about obedience to the commandment of fulfilling the law by following Jesus, loving others, holiness, repentance from sins, carrying the cross (Ephesians 5, Colossians 3, 1 Thess 4, John 13, Matt 5-7, Luke 12, Luke 14, Romans 13, James 2, Galatians 5-6).

The Apostles knew that the Age of the Law (Era of the law) was ending in their lifetime (Heb 8:13)

They were expecting Jesus to return in their lifetime to judge the world according to works (Matthew 16, Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, Romans 13, James 5, Revelation 22, Revelation 2-3, Heb 10).

But the law passed away in AD70.

The moral law ended.

Jesus never came back to judge the world.

Why?

Its because God wanted the law to fully pass away to enter the Age of 100% grace.

God wanted to give more Grace to the world than even they understood.

Its because the Apostles did not fully understand the Gospel of Grace.

The Apostles were still mixing Grace and the moral law.

The ceremonial law ended, thereby allowing Gentiles to join the Church but the Apostles were still holding on to the moral law and were requiring believers to obey the moral law and thought that God would judge the world by the works of moral law.

This is because they still lived in the transition period of Law to Grace from AD30 (Cross) till AD70 (Temple destruction).

Today the law does not exist.

There is no moral or ceremonial law.

God does not command anyone to follow Jesus or do any works.

The only command is to believe in Jesus.

We are righteous by faith in Jesus.

We are permanently forgiven by faith in Jesus.

There is no judgment of works.

The only judgment is Believer vs Unbeliever.

The believer is saved. The unbeliever perishes (John 3:16-20)

Only Grace remains today for all who believe.
