Believers are sinless and righteous in Christ

Believers are sinless and righteous in Christ.

Colossians 2 “13 When you were dead in your sins God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”

The unbeliever is dead in sin without Jesus.

The believer is alive in Christ, forgiven all sins.

We were taken out of death into life and will never be judged.

John 5 “24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”

The believer is not in sin.
We cannot sin because Christ alone lives in us and He cannot sin.

Galatians 2 “20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

We are righteous, holy, blameless by the death of Jesus.

Colossians 1 “22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation”

We are perfect because Jesus is perfect.

Colossians 2 “9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness”

Jesus died to make us perfectly righteous by His death and resurrection.

Hebrews 10 “14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy.”

Sin is only committed by unbelievers because they are dead in sin.

Believers are perfect and cannot sin because we are righteous in Christ.

If believers can sin then Jesus has to die again.

But Jesus died once to take us out of sin into Christ’s righteousness and perfection.

The believer is sinless and righteous because Jesus is righteous and perfect.

1 John 4 “we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.”

As Jesus is, so are we.
