Jesus will not judge the world because He has removed the law and forgiven the sins of the world.
Why did Jesus die on the cross?
It was because the world was under the Law.
Romans 3 “19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.”
The law was going to bring wrath because the entire world was going to be judged according to works.
Romans 4 “The law brings wrath”
Romans 2 “6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger…. 11 For God does not show favoritism…..16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.”
The only people who would be saved were those who obeyed the law perfectly.
But the world could not obey the law.
The flesh was weak.
Romans 7 “5 For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death….7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. 9 Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10 I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.”
Romans 8 “3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,”
Therefore Jesus Christ came to the world to obey the law and die on the cross to forgive all past sins committed by the world under the law.
Hebrews 9 “15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”
The New Covenant forgave the sins done under the law and also gave the believer the Holy Spirit so that they would obey the law and be perfect just like Jesus obeyed the law.
Hebrews 8 “This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God, and they will be my people. 12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.””
The Spirit was given so that they could fulfill/obey the Law just like Jesus and be perfect as God.
Romans 8 “4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Matthew 5 “17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. “
Romans 13 “8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. … So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”
They were going to be judged according to works of the law, and only those who became perfect like Jesus would enter the kingdom otherwise they would be condemned in hell.
Romans 8 “13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
James 2 “My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism….8 If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. 9 But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”
Revelation 22 “12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
The judgment day was going to happen in AD70 when the entire world would be judged by works of perfection.
Matthew 5 “20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven…..48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Matthew 16 “27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. 28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.””
The law ended in AD70 when the temple was destroyed.
Hebrews 8 “13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”
The judgment day did not happen because even the Church failed to follow Jesus.
The Church has failed to obey the law for 2000 years.
The judgment day did not happen because God finally showed His true nature of unconditional love on the cross.
God is Love, and love does not judge imperfect people.
1 John “God is LOVE”
1 Corinthians 13 “Love keeps no record of wrongs”
The Law required the world to be judged but the LOVE of JESUS is greater than the Law !!
James 2 “MERCY triumphs over judgment”
Today the Law does not exist. It is because Jesus died on the cross to remove the law.
By removing the law, He removed all sins of the world.
John 1 ““Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
There is no law and there is no sin in the world.
Romans 4 “Where there is no law there is no transgression”
Jesus has made the world sinless by removing the law.
Jesus has forgiven the sins of the world on the cross.
Luke 23 “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” “
The Law expired in AD70 and God did not judge the world because the Grace and Love of Jesus endures forever.
Jesus will never judge the world because He removed the sins of the world on the cross!
This is the Gospel after AD70: Jesus has forgiven you and made you righteous without works.
