Sometimes we can be afraid that will God ever stop blessing us?
But let me share with you the good news.
Jeremiah 32 “40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them”
Why will God never stop blessing us? It is because of the New Covenant of Grace through Jesus Christ.
Under the Old Covenant of Israel’s law, the earthly blessings were given only if they did good deeds.
That is why they lived in fear of losing His blessings. But that was never God’s true nature.
God gave them the law to show them that they cannot receive earthly blessings by their own good deeds.
God revealed His true nature of unconditional love through His Son Jesus Christ.
John 1 “17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”
Jesus Christ came to save us and bless us unconditionally.
God is LOVE and He blesses us because He loves us unconditionally.
This is God’s love that He loved us without finding fault because Jesus paid for our sins on the cross while we were sinners. He took away our sins and forgave us all sins so that He can bless us unconditionally!
Hebrews 10 ““Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
James 1 “God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God already forgave all our sins and will never judge us!
He has already given us EVERY blessing in Christ because we are forgiven all sins.
Ephesians 1 “3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ….. he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us.”
Every blessing in Christ is given to us from our Father who cannot change.
James 1 “17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
We struggle with unbelief because we think that God may stop blessing us in the future.
We think that God may change…
There are two reasons why God cannot stop blessing us:
1. God is unconditional love that is not based on our good deeds. If past blessings were based on the cross then future blessings are also based on the cross.
The only way that God can change is if Jesus dies again. But Jesus died and rose again to live forever to promise us salvation (blessings) in our daily life!
Hebrews 7 “24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”
2. God cannot lie. He gave us every blessing because Jesus died for us.
Hebrews 6 “it is impossible for God to lie,”
God is love and love cannot lie. Jesus is love and He lives forever to love us forever! He endured the cross to love us forever.
Psalm 100 “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
God cannot stop doing good to us.
He cannot take back the cross. He loves us so much that Jesus suffered and died horribly on the cross, facing all kinds of earthly suffering so that we can receive earthly blessings of God and go to heaven in the end of our lives.
The only reason Jesus suffered so much on the cross was to bless us on earth and in heaven.
This is why we can be sure that God will never stop blessing us – because nobody loves us more like Jesus and God.
Even if we struggle in faith, He is still faithful and will never stop blessing us because we are God’s children and Christ’s bride. We are one with God and Jesus and He cannot disown Himself.
2 Timothy 1 “if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”
