Saved by the will of God, the faith of Jesus:

When we read this passage, it says those who believe in Jesus will be saved.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

But how can a dead man believe?

We need to be born again to believe in Jesus.

John 3 “3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

We did not control our birth into this world. Our parents were responsible for our birth.

In the same way, we don’t control the new-birth of being born-again in the Spirit.

The Father controls it.

The Spirit blows where He chooses.

John 1 “11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

You see, we are believers by the will of God.

It is not you who made the decision.

It is God who made the decision.

It is not your will, but the will of God.

You didn’t become a child of God by your faith.

But it is by the faith of Jesus Christ.

It’s impossible for a dead man to believe or enter the kingdom of God.

The kingdom of God is the person of Jesus Christ, in whom we are forgiven and righteous without works.

The kingdom of God is the Righteousness of God, where we are sinless by the blood of Jesus.

We believe because God chose us and gave us new birth.

It was not our choice or effort, nothing for us to boast in our own abilities, works, believing hard.

I don’t trust in my faith.

My faith fails all the time.

I am faithless. But Jesus is faithful

2 Timothy 2:13 “if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”

You see Jesus is in us. This is why it is HIS FAITH.

Jesus is the Word of God.

Jesus is the Spirit of God.

Jesus is the Faith of God.

This is why it is not our faith.

Our faith is nothing, it goes up or down.

One minute we have faith, the next minute we are faithless.

But Christ is always faithful.

This is why we are saved by HIS FAITH.

We are righteous by His obedience of faith on the cross.

Romans 5 “17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

You see, when man is given a choice to believe, we will fail.

Adam had one thing to believe and he failed.

Man is incapable of believing.

This is why we are righteous by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.

Jesus alone believed the Father, going to the cross, believing that the Father would raise Him from the dead.

The faith of Jesus was His obedience to death on the cross.

The faith of Jesus endured the cross.

He rose from the dead and came to live in us, choosing us by grace, and giving us His faith to believe.

This is grace where we have nothing to boast.

We don’t even boast in our faith.

We boast in Jesus alone.
