Many people think that Righteousness is about good works.

But Righteousness is not about our works.

Righteousness is the sinless perfect Jesus Christ.

Righteousness is the person of the Son of God.

This is why all men fall short of God’s glory.

Romans 3:10-11 ““There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

We are righteous freely by the Grace of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

How did this happen?

Jesus Christ is righteous – the only man who is righteous – because He is God.

He has to give us His Righteousness – He has to give us Himself.

For that He has to become a man and die for our sins.

But He never sinned, therefore He rose from the dead.

He made us righteous because He took away all our sins.

Romans 4 “God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. ²⁵ He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”

You see we are righteous not because of anything we do.

We are righteous because of Jesus.

Therefore righteousness is not about works.

Righteousness is a person – Righteousness is sinless perfection – that only God is!

Therefore our Righteousness is Jesus Himself.

1 Corinthians 1 “²⁶ Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. ²⁷ But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. ²⁸ God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, ²⁹ so that no one may boast before him. ³⁰ It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. ³¹ Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.””

You see if we look at our works, we are nothing. But when we see that it is Jesus living in us, then we are righteous, holy and wise! We boast in Jesus and not ourselves.

Holiness is not about good deeds. Holiness is the person of Jesus.

You are holy because Jesus lives in you.

Wisdom is not about your decisions. Wisdom is the person of Jesus.

You are wise because Jesus lives in you.

Salvation is not just about going to heaven when you die. Salvation is the person of Jesus Christ. This is why you are saved the moment you believe and you are already seated in heaven with Jesus. Because it’s all about Jesus!

Ephesians 2 “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, ² in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world…³ All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. ⁴ But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. ⁶ And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, “

Everyone who believes in Jesus is Righteous because Jesus is Righteous.

Everyone who believes in Jesus is holy because Jesus is holy.

Everyone who believes in Jesus is wise because Jesus is our wisdom.

Everyone who believes in Jesus is saved because Jesus is our salvation.
