This is the good news! Jesus Christ, the Son of God removed all sins and made the world forgiven, sinless, righteous freely by His death and resurrection.
All nations can come and receive eternal life by grace through faith without any works.
But let’s see how it all began.
God created Adam without any sin. He was spiritually alive as the son of God (Luke 3:38) and he knew God in the garden of Eden. Adam was innocent and did not know sin (he was naked). But God told him not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, otherwise he would die on the same day (Genesis 2-3).
Adam sinned because he wanted to become like God by knowing good and evil. He became sin-conscious by knowing right and wrong in his heart. His mind was filled with the fear of God’s judgment as he realized his own nakedness (he became aware of his flaws and feared the holy God). In his mind, he became an enemy of God and deserving of wrath.
Adam died spiritually by losing God’s Spirit when he sinned.
God then prohibited Adam from eating from the tree of life, so then man died and was separated from God forever until Jesus Christ would come later and die on the cross to forgive all sins and give us eternal life.
All men descended from Adam, without the Spirit, being dead spiritually, having this sin-consciousness – this resulted in the creation of man-made religions, where man has always tried to reach God by repentance, good deeds, confessions, keeping laws, rules.
From Adam, sin and death reigned but there was no law. Sin was not imputed because there was no law yet, but nobody had life either.
Romans 5 “12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned— 13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.”
Then God called Abraham, he believed and was righteous by faith. There was no works, no law! Simple grace through faith.
Genesis 15 “6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
God promised Abraham that his seed/offspring would bless all nations with salvation.
Genesis 22 “18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed,”
Abraham’s righteousness would come later through His Seed – Jesus Christ – through whom all nations would be blessed.
Galatians 3 “6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith…..16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ. 17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise. …. what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe…26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Then God gave Israel the law to impute sin.
The Law was a covenant of works (do all of the works to be saved, otherwise breaking even one commandment would result in condemnation!)
The law has commandments that expose sins and judges sin. Nobody was righteous by the commandments of the law because it was impossible for man to obey it perfectly.
The Jews tried to be righteous by the law in their self-righteousness and obviously failed.
Romans 3 ““There is no one righteous, not even one;…19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.”
The Gentiles were dead outside the law due to sin-consciousness and not knowing God (Ephesians 2:11-13).
Sin was increased by the law (Romans 5:20).
Jesus Christ came to FULFILL the Law by His sinless life that obeyed the entire law. He then ENDED the law by dying on the cross to forgive all the sins of the world. The Law imputed all sins on the body of Jesus Christ and the Law ended.
Jesus removed all sins on the cross by ending the Law.
Jesus ended all sin so all people can receive eternal life / salvation freely as the gift of God.
Hebrews 9 “But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
Jesus ended the law so that righteousness is by faith alone, not works.
Romans 10 “4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”
Romans 3 “22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. “
Salvation has finally come to the nations by grace.
Works are irrelevant today. Law is irrelevant.
The only thing that matters is faith in Jesus Christ to receive eternal life!
The entire purpose of the Bible (the old testament, sermon on the mount, James, teachings of Jesus before the cross, etc.) are all fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Christ.
It’s all fulfilled, Jesus has finished the work in removing all sins and removing the law after His death and resurrection.
The Bible describes man’s journey from Adam to Christ, from Law to Grace.
The purpose of the Bible is to simply believe in Jesus and not do any works!
Jesus ended all the commandments of the law on the cross. The Law does not exist today!
Jesus ended all sins, ended all works.
Everything has ended so that we are given Righteousness freely by grace through faith in Jesus.
Just like Abraham was righteous by faith, today all nations can be righteous by faith in Jesus
After 40 years the Law was eradicated when Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70.
Hebrews 8:13 “By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.”
Today there is no Law. Therefore there is no sin.
Romans 4:15 “where there is no law there is no transgression. 16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring”
The law is opposed to faith. Therefore Law has gone and now only grace through faith remains!
Galatians 3 “The law is not of faith….. the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian(law).”
Jesus made the world sinless and righteous by His death on the cross because He removed the law!
Sin does not exist today. But people have sin consciousness in their minds and are spiritually dead without God’s Spirit.
This sin-consciousness is removed when we know that Jesus has forgiven all sins by faith in Jesus. We receive eternal life / righteousness by faith in Jesus, receiving the Holy Spirit.
All we need to do is believe in Jesus to receive this salvation (forgiven all sins, sinless perfection, righteousness, eternal life, glory of God)
Those who don’t believe in Jesus perish without eternal life.
John 3 “16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
Jesus has finished the work in removing all sins and the law! So come and take the free gift of salvation by faith.
Revelation 21-22 “5 He (Jesus) who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious (have faith) will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children..”…..Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads…..17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”
Jesus Christ finished the work. He is GOD Almighty. He has removed sin, the law and death.
No man could do this. Only GOD (JESUS) could remove all sins!
He gives the free gift of LIFE to all who are victorious (by faith).
Adam’s sin prevented all nations from eating from the tree of life.
But now Jesus Christ’s obedience on the cross and resurrection has removed sin and gives all nations to come and be healed (saved) by eating from the tree of life by faith alone!
Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is forgiven all sins, made righteous, perfectly sinless, by grace and not works!
