There’s no free lunch in the world. Everything will cost you something.

That is the spirit of the world.

But God is not like the world.

He sent Jesus to give us salvation freely through the cross.

1 Corinthians 2 “² For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified….¹² What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

The world is self-serving but Jesus washed the feet of His disciples freely. Our Lord and God stooped down to wash our feet, even washing our entire body, soul, and spirit by His blood to make us holy and blameless!

John 13 “³ Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; ⁴ so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. ⁵ After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.”

In this world, we will die because of the sin of Adam.

People suffer loss and destruction in this fallen world.

But Jesus came to die on the cross and give us abundant life through His resurrection!

John 10 “¹⁰ The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. ¹¹ “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

Everyone who believes in Jesus, receives the forgiveness of sins and the free gift of eternal life.
