What does it mean that Jesus sat down in heaven after His death and resurrection?
Hebrews 1 “3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Jesus sat down because He finished the work of making all of us sinless and perfect by His blood.
The Law can never make anyone perfect because the work was never finished.
But Jesus sat down after shedding His blood to make us perfect under Grace!
Hebrews 10 “11 Day after day every priest (Levitical) stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest (JESUS) had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy.”
The believer is also seated in Christ and the work is finished – we are sinless and perfect thanks to Jesus!!
It is by GRACE and not our works. It is by the finished work of Jesus that we are perfectly righteous and holy!
We are ONE with Him, having His glory and righteousness! Christ in you!
Ephesians 2 “4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,”
