Many people know Jesus Christ for His teachings on love, forgiving others, turning the other cheek, etc.

They see similarities between the teachings of Jesus and other “so-called gods and teachers” in the world’s religions.

They think that Christianity is just another way to God like other religions.

We see that people from many religions also follow teachings of loving their neighbor, doing good, helping the poor, being good people.

But is that why Jesus came? Did Jesus come to make the world a better place by helping people be more kind to each other?

The answer is no.

Jesus came to the earth, not to start a new religion based on doing good deeds.

The world is dead in sin – it does not need behavior improvement. It needs ETERNAL LIFE.

Jesus came because no man is righteous, not even one!

Romans 3 ““There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.”

Nobody can be saved by their own works. It is because people are spiritually dead.

A dead man cannot do good works to become as righteous as God. Therefore a dead man cannot live in God’s presence!

Romans 3 “²⁰ Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works “

Galatians 2 “¹⁶ know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 2 “⁸ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— ⁹ not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Everyone sins by falling short of God’s sinless righteous perfect glory!

Everyone is dead in sin, not having God’s spirit because of sin.

Jesus came to die on the cross for our sins because humanity was dead in sin. No amount of good deeds can make a man become like God.

Therefore God became a man and tasted our death on the cross.

Jesus died OUR death..He died as us on the cross.

He took away all our sins on the cross!

But because Jesus is God, and had never sinned, He rose from the dead in power and glory, sinless, and righteous!

He gave us God’s immortality, sinless perfect righteousness!

He forgave all our sins, He justified us freely by grace!

Romans 3 “²² God’s righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. ²⁵ God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.”

Jesus is not merely a good teacher or a prophet or founder of a new religion.

Jesus is LORD and GOD.

John 20 “²⁸ Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!””

Jesus is CREATOR of ALL things!

Colossians 1 “¹⁵ The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. ¹⁶ For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. ¹⁷ He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. ¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. ¹⁹ For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, ²⁰ and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

Jesus proved that He is God by rising from the dead. Jesus rose from the dead after He forgave all our sins on the cross.

John 21 “Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”

Everyone who believes in Jesus receives the forgiveness of sins and is made righteous without works!
