When Adam sinned, he died spiritually and his sin was a barrier between mankind and God. Man could not receive eternal life because of sin.

Genesis 3 “²² And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.””

The Law came to increase sin and bring condemnation by giving a list of commands that man could never obey! (To show that man needs salvation by grace)

Romans 5 “²⁰ The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more”

2 Corinthians 3 “⁷ Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone….brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! “

But Jesus Christ died on the cross to take away sins by ending the law. He makes us Righteous by His death and resurrection.

Colossians 2:13-14 “¹³ When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, ¹⁴ having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”

There is no sin in the world. Jesus took away all sins. There is no more law to bring death.

The barrier between God and man has been removed. Now we can come to take the free gift of life by faith in Jesus.

Revelation 22 “¹⁷ The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.”

Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ, receives the forgiveness of sins, and has eternal life.
