Man has always tried to reach God by his works and efforts, beginning with Adam and Eve, and then Israel trying to keep the Law in their attempts to be righteous by works.

But no man can be righteous by works.

God’s grace and man’s works cannot be mixed.

Romans 11 ” ⁶ And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.”

Romans 9 “¹⁶ It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.”

Jesus Christ died on the cross to end all human effort.

Romans 10 “⁴ Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”

The Cross is the end of all human works so that God gives grace to all who believe in Jesus.

Jesus ended all human works to make us righteous by faith without works!
