John 19:28-30 “²⁸ Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” ²⁹ A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. ³⁰ When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

Why did Jesus say it was finished?

It was because He came to do God’s will.

It was to die for the sins of the world.

It was to take away all our sins (John 1:29)

It was to forgive all our sins and make us perfect by His blood (Hebrews 10:9-14)

We can never be sinless or perfect by our good deeds, repentance, etc.

But everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is made sinless, perfect, forgiven all sin by the blood of Jesus Christ.

It is FINISHED.
