When we believed in Jesus, we were forgiven ALL sin and made ALIVE with Christ in His perfect righteousness

Acts 10:43 “⁴³ All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Colossians 2:13-14 “¹³ When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, ¹⁴ having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”

Ephesians 2 “⁴ But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. ⁶ And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, ⁷ in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— ⁹ not by works, so that no one can boast.”

The believer is perfectly righteous in Christ.

2 corinthians 5 “17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

We were sinners when we were unbelievers.

But Jesus became sin on the cross because we were sinners.

When we believed, we became Righteous with Christ in His Resurrection.

By faith in Jesus, we became new creations having God’s righteousness without sin being imputed anymore!!

God has given us His perfect righteousness freely by grace through faith.

Romans 3 “21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith”

– You see we are Righteous freely by grace through faith in Jesus, without doing any works of law.

We are perfect by Christ’s one sacrifice – He shed His blood and rose again to declare us PERFECT by His finished work.

Hebrews 10 “14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy.”

The believer is as righteous as Jesus because Jesus took away all our sins on the cross and gave us His Righteousness in His resurrection.

It is finished.

There’s nothing for us to do to improve it.

We are complete in Christ.

Colossians 2 “⁹ For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, ¹⁰ and in Christ you have been brought to completion.”
