Do not be deceived by faith+works for salvation!

Do not be deceived by faith+works for salvation!

2 Corinthians 11 “2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.”

Paul warned the Church to not be deceived by the Law-preachers who were preaching Faith + Law for salvation.

Do you know what was Eve’s sin?

It was not murder, adultery, or stealing. She desired to KNOW GOOD and EVIL by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She tried to reach God by doing good works and avoiding evil !!

That is exactly what some Christians are doing today. I used to make that same mistake in the past. They say it is by Faith AND their works !! But that is ANOTHER Jesus, ANOTHER Gospel, that is not the true Gospel. If Salvation is by Faith AND works, then it is all up to YOUR works and NOT Jesus. But the truth is that Salvation is a FREE GIFT. It has been paid fully by the blood of Jesus.

Jesus does not need your “good works” or “avoiding evil” to save you. That would be a repeat of the sin of Adam and Eve! Jesus came to save you because there is nothing you can do to attain salvation! We need GRACE to be saved.

That is why FAITH in Jesus means to TRUST him and not your works!

Romans 4 “4 Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. 5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness…..God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
