JOHN 6 “47 Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

The Jews in the 1st century were focused on Moses, the Ten commandments, etc….

But Jesus likened this to the “manna”….those people ate it but still died.Jesus is the TRUE BREAD of LIFE….who lives forever and gives us eternal life by Faith in Him.

The 10 commandments and the Law is EXPIRED BREAD…..it is not commanded to anyone today.

Just because something is in the Bible, does not mean it is for you!

I will show you how:God commanded Noah to build an ark. Are you building an ark in your backyard for salvation? That commandment expired.God commanded Abraham to leave his land, sacrifice his son? I hope you are not doing that because that commandment expired.

God commanded Israel the ten commandments to receive eternal life. Were they able to do it? OF COURSE NOT…..Israel had the LAW, knew God, the Covenants, the Priesthood, the temple…..but eventually CRUCIFIED the Savior Jesus Christ …..the Son of God.

ACTS 2 “5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven…..36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

What does this show you? The LAW CANNOT SAVE ANYONE.

God gave the LAW for one purpose…to show that you cannot save yourselves by your works. The Law demanded man’s obedience to give eternal life.

But the only man who obeyed the Law is Jesus Christ.

Jesus obeyed the Law to live forever.

All people die because they disobey the law.

Therefore Jesus DIED on the Cross for the sins committed by all people. He rose from the dead because He never sinned.

The Old Covenant (Ten Commandments) ended on the cross. Those commandments expired.

The New Covenant is GOD’s MESSAGE to the WORLD today.

BELIEVE in JESUS CHRIST and you will be saved apart from the works of the law.
