The Law condemns but Jesus saves!

Jesus himself, warned the Jews who trusted in the Law of Moses that the Law will accuse/condemn them!

John 6 “45 “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your ACCUSER is MOSES, on whom your HOPES are SET.”God is not commanding people to keep the Law but to simply believe/trust in Jesus:John 5 “28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” 29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent…….40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and BELIEVES in him shall have ETERNAL LIFE, and I will raise them up at the last day.”……47 Very truly I tell you, the one who BELIEVES HAS ETERNAL LIFE. “”24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and BELIEVES him who sent me has ETERNAL LIFE and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”

This is why the Gospel is ONLY about CHRIST CRUCIFIED!

1 Corinthians 2:2 “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.”

1 Corinthians 1 “18 For the message of the CROSS is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being SAVED it is the power of God.”

It is not our good works but the CROSS that saves us!

The Law is NOT the Gospel. The Law ACCUSES ALL who trust in works because the Law demands perfection and therefore nobody can be righteous by the Law.

BUT Those who believe in Jesus are Righteous because CHRIST HIMSELF is our Righteousness and Holiness!

He died to forgive us and rose again to make us righteous by grace through faith in Him, apart from our works!

1 Corinthians 1 “28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

If righteousness came by the Law then we can boast in our works but God will not allow any human to boast before Him. This is why Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH in Jesus.

When we BELIEVE in Jesus, we boast in JESUS because He saves us by GRACE and not our works!
