EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS: Daniel’s prophecy was fulfilled in the 1st Century by removing the Law.
Daniel 9 “24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.”
Israel was given 490 years (70 weeks) to fulfill the Law – by the final sacrifice of Christ on the cross. When Daniel spoke those prophecies many centuries before Christ, it was SEALED until the end-times.
Daniel 12 “9 He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.”
Well, was this 490 year prophecy postponed for 2000 years?
No, it was fulfilled in the time when Revelation was written! This not the “end of the time” but it is the “end of the Law”.
Revelation 22 “10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. “
Everything written in Daniel was fulfilled in the 1st century.Jesus Christ began the end of the Law by His death on the cross and finally removed the Law in AD70 when the Temple and sacrifices came to an end.
Jesus atoned for sin.
The old heaven and earth (old covenant) passed away in AD70 when Jerusalem and the Temple was destroyed.
Daniel 9 “26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The END will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.”
The tribulation was from AD66-70 and ended with the Roman war that destroyed Jerusalem and the temple.
The END of the law happened when the Temple was destroyed.
Jesus brought everlasting righteousness in AD70 by removing the Law.
Today all who believe in Christ are made everlastingly righteous by faith. If you believe in Christ, you have everlasting righteousness without doing a single work!!
