The law cannot make anyone righteous or perfect. You cannot love God with all your heart, soul, strength. You cannot love your neighbor as yourself. It is impossible.
Hebrews 7 “(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”
This is why Jesus Christ obeyed the Law on our behalf. He never sinned.
Under the law they had to offer constant sacrifices, confessing their sins, apologizing to God, because their sins were never taken away by the law.
Hebrews 10 “For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? 3 But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins. 4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. “
But God so loved the world that He sent Jesus Christ to make the final sacrifice to take away our sins once and for all.
Hebrews 10 ” 9 then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, 10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”… 14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.
What the law could not do, GOD DID by Christ’s death on the cross.
This is why there is no condemnation for the believer because Jesus was condemned in our place.
Romans 8 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh”
Jesus died once to forgive you all sins.
We receive forgiveness by faith in Christ, once and for all.
Jesus rose from the dead proving that you are forgiven and righteous by grace.
He will not die again.
It is because you are forgiven all sin.
It is because you are as righteous as Christ.
The work is finished.
This is Christ’s love for you.
Rejoice in Him because He has made you perfect by grace through faith and not by your works.
