GRACE cannot be mixed with works

The Grace of God cannot be earned by our works but only received by faith in Christ.

Romans 11:6 “And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.”

Romans 4:4 “Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.”

Salvation is purely by grace not by works.

We cannot say that we need grace and then turn around and require works for salvation.

  • Either we have to do all the works perfectly
  • OR Believe that Jesus Christ did all the work for us.

Those who realize that they cannot do the works can receive the grace of God by believing in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-9 “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.”

Romans 4:16 “For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure”

Romans 5:1-2 “Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand.”

To believe in Jesus is to rely on His grace alone and not in our works. God loves to give GRACE to those who believe!

Titus 3:5-7 “not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

2 Timothy 1:9 “who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,”
