Forgiveness is a permanent location in Christ

Colossians 2 “13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses”

When a person is an unbeliever, they are dead in sin. They are not forgiven because the Law condemns their sins.

When a person believes in Jesus Christ, we become spiritually alive. We are forgiven of all sins.

This forgiveness is not based on apologies, confessions or trying to sin less.

It is based solely on faith in Christ.

When we believe in Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit, we are made alive, forgiven all sins.We receive eternal life, there’s no more judgment.

John 5 “24 “Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

We have eternal life because we are permanently forgiven.Sin will never be accounted to us anymore.

Hebrews 10 “I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”

God has gifted us His Righteousness by faith in Christ.

Romans 3 “22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe.”

So dear believer, you cannot bounce back between forgiven and unforgiven when you sin.

You cannot be transitioning between righteous and unrighteous based on your actions.

You are not a sinner one day, saint the next.

It’s a done deal.

If you believe in Christ, you are ALIVE, FORGIVEN, RIGHTEOUS, HOLY, BLAMELESS eternally.

It’s because you are now in Christ and not in sin anymore.

Your salvation is about location and not your works – you are in Christ.

Galatians 2 “20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me”Ephesians 2 “5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”

So now that we are in Christ, forgiven, saved, righteous, consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to His righteousness and walk in love. Sin will not rule over us when we focus on His grace.
