Christ is our Righteousness

Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

The Law demanded perfection in the 613 commandments and that’s why all are guilty under the Law.

Only Jesus fulfilled the perfect righteous demands of the law, without sinning. But the law demanded the punishment of our sins.

This is why Jesus died on the cross to fulfill the demands of the law. Our sins were forgiven on the cross.

Then He was buried after having consumed our condemnation fully on the cross.

He rose from the dead – declaring us righteous without works but simply received by faith in Him.

To believe in Jesus, means that we don’t trust in our own works.

We trust in Jesus alone because He fulfilled the law on our behalf to make us righteous by faith.

So then God freely made every believer righteous, forgiven, sanctified, holy, blameless and perfect just as Jesus is !!

This is the Gospel of grace! We are not under law but under grace.

What if we sin after we are saved?

God is not asking us to confess our sins to receive forgiveness again. We are already forgiven.

But we are called to repent/change our minds and know that we are dead to sin and we are righteous in Christ.

That means we are done with sin (turn away from sin) and now live a life of righteousness.

Romans 6 “. 11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord….14 For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.”

When we have the full assurance of His love, then we can walk in love for others. When we love others, we don’t sin against them. This is how we fulfill the law – by faith in Christ, that manifests in love for one another.

Romans 13 “10 Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.”

Most believers are sincere – even if we struggle with sinful addictions or behaviors, God’s grace is abundantly given to us because Christ is our righteousness.

The more we soak in His love and grace, we are transformed. We cannot lose salvation. The unbeliever is condemned by the Law.But the believer is righteous by grace through faith.
