Righteous by Christ’s obedience

Romans 5 “19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

Adam’s disobedience was to trust in the knowledge of good & evil (the law).

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was the foreshadow of the law.

The law tells people what is good and evil – it shows people sin.

Adam wanted to know right and wrong – moral laws instead of knowing God’s love.

Adam’s sin was self-reliance on his own morality, strength, wisdom and ability to become like God.

The truth is that no man is righteous by the law (human effort).

Those who trust in themselves are sinners under condemnation of law, falling short of God’s glory.

To believe in Christ is to trust in what He did and not rely on our efforts.

We are righteous by the obedience of Jesus Christ.

We are made righteous by faith in Christ.Jesus did it all.

By His obedience, we who believe – are made righteous forever!
