The Law kills but Jesus gives life

Do you want a living and vibrant relationship with God?

Then please do not rely on your moral works!

Its because the Law brings death but Christ brings life!

John 6 “49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. 50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Paul defined the 10 commandments as “death”.

But the grace of God as the Righteousness of Christ given to us by faith.

2 Corinthians 3 “6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away, 8 won’t service of the Spirit be with much more glory? 9 For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.”

The law KILLS because it shows that we are not perfect.

Romans 7 “7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead. 9 I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for death; 11 for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.”

Jesus preached the Law in the 3 Gospels showing Israel that they have to be perfect if they want to keep the Law. (Matthew 5-7, Luke 12, Luke 14, Matthew 19).

The law cannot save or sanctify anyone. It only shows flaws. So then we DIE to the law by not trusting in our works but only believing in CHRIST.

Romans 7 ” 4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God.”

Once we come to Christ, we are FORGIVEN ALL Sins committed under the law and made ALIVE in Christ because we are no longer under the law.

Colossians 2 “13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you ALIVE together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.”

As believers, we no longer relate to God based on LAW that kills but the GRACE that gives LIFE in CHRIST.

Galatians 3 ” 24 So that the law has become our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. 26 For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus.”

The Law kills but Jesus died and rose again to be our Life.

That Law demands righteousness from man but Jesus is our righteousness.

The Law says “do” and Jesus says “done”The Law says “you shall” but Jesus says “I will”.

The Law demands perfection and Jesus is our perfection.

The Law curses but Jesus blesses.

The Law condemns but Jesus made us righteous.

The Law steals but Jesus restores.

The Law accuses but Jesus forgave our sins.

The Law demands works but Jesus finished the work.

The Law is human effort but Christ is God’s effort for us.

Those who don’t believe in Christ are under Law.

Those who believe in Christ are not under Law but under Grace.

To believe in Christ is to trust in Him and not in your efforts.
