The believer cannot perish and will not be judged.
But we may see this verse and think that we can lose salvation by our sins.
Romans 8 “13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
But a few verses above we see that believers are not in the flesh but in the Spirit.
Romans 8 “9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.”
This is why there is no condemnation for believers
Romans 8 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”
It is because the believer has already crucified his flesh by receiving the Holy Spirit:
Galatians 5 ” 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,[a] 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.“
The more we know His love and forgiveness, the more we can walk in the Spirit who bears fruit in us through grace and not our works.
The believer has eternal life and cannot perish!
We will not be judged because of Christ’s finished work
John 5 “24 “Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. “
John 11 “25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. 26 Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?””
John 10 “27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”
