Dear believer, you are the finished work of Christ!

Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Salvation is completely the work of God in irrevocably uniting us in the person of Jesus Christ.

We were dead in Adam, in sin, separated from God under condemnation.

We were utterly unable to make ourselves “alive” or “righteous” because human beings are dust compared to Almighty God.

Adam tried to “become” like God through morality (knowing good & evil) but failed miserably – of course, how could the mere creation do anything to become like God?

Therefore God Himself become one with us and resurrected us in His glory!

God’s glory is revealed only in Jesus Christ – the Son of God (2 Corinthians 4:6).

Jesus became one with us in His death on the cross, dying with us, taking our sins upon Himself.

He was buried, and took our sins away as far as the east is from the west. Our sins were wiped away once and for all.

After the third day, He rose from the dead because He made us righteous in His own righteousness!

We were raised with Christ because we are no longer sinners, we are no longer in Adam.

We are not in sin but in Christ. We are not dead anymore, but we are alive in Christ.

What glory! But there’s even more glory to come!

God who began the work in us through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, will complete the work in us. How will that happen? Paul tells us here:

Colossians 3 “If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.”

At the moment, we are seated in heaven with Christ because that is where He is now! He works through us here on earth by His Spirit living in us.

Our life is hidden in Christ – actually our life IS Christ. We have no life apart from Christ.

God will complete the work when Christ returns to give us glorified resurrection bodies just like Himself.

Our entire biography is written in Christ’s death, burial, resurrection and His final return – in Christ alone.

You see, how our entire identity and being is found in Christ’s work and not anything we did.So please don’t look at yourselves as sinners who fall short of His glory!

Jesus died and was buried because we were dead in sin.

Jesus was raised to make us alive.

Jesus lives forever and therefore we have eternal life.

Jesus is righteous and therefore we are righteous.Jesus is God’s beloved Son, and so are we!

Dear believer, you are the finished work of Christ because we are ONE with Christ – in Him alone we have our full being and identity as God’s beloved righteous children!
