As believers we are told to seek and desire God’s kingdom and righteousness. Many of us have been taught that it means to pray, fast, tithe, read Bible, go to Church, support ministries, etc.
God’s kingdom and righteousness is not only for believers who are zealous.
But His kingdom and righteousness is for ALL believers – both weak and strong.
Every believer in Christ already has the kingdom of God and His righteousness!
Colossians 1 “3 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, 14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.”
It is because all our sins have been forgiven and we are children of God.
Christ Himself is our wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption.
1 Corinthians 1 “30 Because of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: 31 that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.”
Jesus Christ never sinned but He took all our sins so that we who are not righteous by works have been made Righteous by FAITH freely as a GIFT.
2nd Corinthians 5 “21 For him (Jesus) who knew no sin he (God) made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Romans 4 ” 4 Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed. 5 But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works, 7 “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.”…..to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead, 25 who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.“
Romans 14 “17 for God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
The kingdom of God is the Righteousness of God freely gifted in the believer.
We have peace because our sins have been forgiven.
We have joy because the Father loves us.
All of this is through the Holy Spirit given to us. The kingdom is within us!
Jesus clearly tells us in the parable of the workers, that ALL believers receive the same salvation by grace through faith without their works!
Matthew 20 “11 When they received it, they murmured against the master of the household, 12 saying, ‘These last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!’ 13 “But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take that which is yours, and go your way. It is my desire to give to this last just as much as to you. 15 Isn’t it lawful for me to do what I want to with what I own? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Every believer already has the kingdom and God’s righteousness as a FREE GIFT.
This includes all kind of believers:
- zealous hard-working believers who serve the LORD a lot.
- average believers
- weak believers who have weak consciences.
- faithless believers who struggle in faith
- believers who stumble a lot in sin
May God bless you all in Jesus’ name.
