Christ became ONE with believers to save us

All men are mere mortals separated from the holy, immortal God by an infinite gap. There is nothing we can do to be saved by our own works. Therefore God Himself came down to the earth as a man – through His Son Jesus Christ who lived the perfect righteous life for our sake. But that was not enough. If Christ only lived a righteous life and went back to heaven, we would still remain dead in sin.

We could be saved only IF CHRIST became ONE with us. Salvation is about God becoming one with man. Therefore Jesus had to taste our death and become ONE with us in death.

He had to be crucified WITH us in OUR SINS. This is how much HE LOVES US.

Galatians 2 “20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.”

Jesus Christ rose from the dead only because He Himself never sinned. His righteousness eradicated the judgment of our sins and therefore He rose from the dead.

And all who trust in Christ, are RAISED with Christ. We are no longer dead in sin but we are ALIVE having His righteousness!

The baptism symbolizes our union with Christ’s death and resurrection.

Romans 6 “Or don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrectionknowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him; knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him!”

Salvation is our union with Christ. In His great mercy the LORD joined with us in our death and RAISED us with Him and seated with Him in heaven.

Ephesians 2 “But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

Christ’s righteousness is so powerful that it wiped out all our sins and now we are one with Him in the Spirit. We are IN CHRIST.

1 Corinthians 6 “17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. “

Colossians 2 “12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. 13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.”

This is because ALL our entire lifetime of sins was forgiven – we are no longer in sin but in Christ.

Colossians 3 “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in GodWhen Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.”

We are eternally included in Christ.

Christ lives forever and therefore we have eternal life. CHRIST IS OUR LIFE.

Christ will never die again and therefore we live forever. We can never lose salvation.

He is our ETERNAL LIFE and when He returns He will give us the glory of the physical resurrection of our bodies to become immortal like Him.
