John 1 “29 The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!“
The believer is forgiven by the blood of Christ, the Lamb of God who was slain for our sins.
Ephesians 1 “in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,”
We are not forgiven based on how much we confess.
We are not forgiven based on our good deeds.
We are forgiven based on Christ’s blood.
Jesus died one time only to forgive us forever.
If only our past sins were forgiven, then Jesus needs to die every time we sin.
But He died once for all to forgive our past, present and future sins.
There are no more sins to be forgiven for the believer.
We have been made perfect forever because Christ died and rose from the dead.
Hebrews 10 “10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified …….then he says, 17 “I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.” 18 Now where forgiveness of these is, there is no more offering for sin.“
God has forgiven the sins of the believer once and for all.
He will never judge us for our sins.
Romans 4 ” 5 But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works, 7 “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man whom the Lord will by no means charge with sin.……….who believe in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead, 25 who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.”
We are made righteous by Christ’s finished work only by believing but without doing a single work.
It is finished – Jesus did it.
Let us rejoice!
