Many times, we may ask ourselves if we love Jesus?
We love JESUS because He first loved us
and His love for us is within our hearts forever no matter how much we may stumble in faith.
Even if we stumble, He brings us back in His love like the good shepherd who always brings back the lost sheep.
John 10:10-11 “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep”
Luke 15 “3 He told them this parable. 4 “Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? 5 When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.”
His love endures forever, and His love for us is within our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
Therefore we love Him with undying/incorruptible love.
Psalm 136:1 (ESV)”Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
Romans 5 “5 and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 6 For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will hardly die for a righteous man. Yet perhaps for a good person someone would even dare to die. 8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
God’s love for us never fails even if we fail in our faith.
1 Corinthians 13:8 “Love never fails.”
He loved us first before we did anything good. We did nothing to deserve His love and even if we fail many times, His love always restores us back.
1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.”
This is why we love Him because He loves us so much. Nobody has loved us as much as Jesus has loved us. He gave His life for us. The God of the universes loves you and me through His Son Jesus Christ so that God is your Father.
1 Peter 1:8 “whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,”
Ephesians 6 “24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.””
We love Him with an undying, incorruptible love because that’s how much He loves us – with an everlasting love that can never fail.
We love God because He first loved us with unfailing love.
Our love for Him is through His own love for us.
We love Him with His own love for us.
It’s not our love but God’s own love that He put in our hearts.
His love for us never fails because God is LOVE.
