In a shaking and uncertain world, there is nothing more certain the power and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Israelites were in the wilderness and bit by snakes, they looked to the snake on the pole – a symbol of our Lord Jesus Christ.
John 3 “14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
When the Israelites stopped looking at the serpents in the wilderness and LOOKED/TRUSTED in the serpent on the pole, they were HEALED.
In the same way, in this world of pandemics and famines, we must look at JESUS our LORD who suffered on the cross. He took all the curses of the world (disease, famine, nakedness, tribulation, lack, poverty, suffering and death)
When we LOOK or TRUST in JESUS alone and not our performance, then we will be SAVED from the troubles of this uncertain world.
Why does Jesus have all this power to save us?
It is because WHO JESUS IS.
It is because Jesus Christ IS the beginning of all things, He IS the Word of God, He IS God, Himself and in Him, all things were created and He IS the LIFE and He is the LIGHT that overcame the darkness!
He is the BEGINNING and in Him, everything was made!
John 1
“In the beginning was the Word (Jesus),
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.”
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
JESUS is the ONE who has taken away ALL the sins of the believer! So stop thinking that this problem is because of your sins but look to JESUS who took away your sins!
He has overcome the darkness of the world! He is the LIGHT and LIFE of the world!
Nobody has seen God until Jesus Christ His Son came to the world
Let us meditate on His GLORY.
Colossians 1
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God.
He is the firstborn over the New Creation.
He is before all things.
He is above all things.
He created the entire universe, the invisible heavens and the visible universe.
IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER.
He is the CENTER of ALL things.
In Him everything finds existence.
Your entire life is held together in Him.
He holds your entire life in His hands – those same loving nail-pierced hands!
He is head of the Church. He is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.
He is the ALPHA and OMEGA. The beginning and the end.
He is GREATER than all things in this vast universe.
He is GREATER than any virus, economic downturn, famine and any problem!
He is the One who spoke the entire universe into existence by HIS WORD.
He is the one who split the Red Sea. He is the one who healed the sick, made the blind see, turned water into wine and RAISED the DEAD.
He is the ONE who DEFEATED DEATH.
He is the ONE who took away our sins and gave us His Righteousness!
He tells us to NOT BE AFRAID and He puts His right hand on us to say THAT HE IS GREATER than ALL the problems!
Revelation 1
17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead.
Then he placed his right hand on me and said:
“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.
18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
He who created all things has died on the cross to save those who believe from hell and from all the curses on this world. If you trust in Him and stop trusting in your own performance then He will SAVE you from hell and all the problems in this world.
The FULLNESS of GOD is in CHRIST.
Just think of that. Christ is the SON of GOD.
The full glory and power of God is found in Christ.
And He has SUPREMACY over ALL things, over ALL pandemics, over ALL economic downturns, over ALL famines, over ALL problems in JESUS NAME.
If you fully trust in Christ and not in your works, then the same FULLNESS of God that is in Christ is NOW IN YOU because you are IN CHRIST.
Colossians 2
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness
So let us keep looking to JESUS our LORD – the One who holds ALL things and who is SUPREME over all things in whom we have been forgiven.
Colossians 2
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses…He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us”
The Gospel
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came in the flesh but never sinned and then He suffered and died on the cross for our sins, was buried, on the third day He rose from the dead and He will come to judge the world.
Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone will receive the forgiveness of sins and the free gift of the righteousness of God without doing a single work.
