The word of our testimony

As Christians, we may not be powerful in the fleshly realm fighting against an invisible enemy (the virus unleased from evil spirits)

but our weapons are the word of God and the testimony of our mouth.

Revelation 12

For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
    has been hurled down.

They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
    and by the word of their testimony;

What is the feeling when we hear about such great global problems? We think that God is judging us. This is the voice of condemnation and accusation – it is actually from the devil and evil spirits.

But how can we overcome this accusation?

  • the Blood of the lamb
  • Word of our testimony

The Blood of Jesus has taken away our sins! There is no condemnation for us!

John 1 “29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

For those who are outside of Christ, they try many good works and rituals to appease their guilt but it can never take away their sins. This is why Jesus Christ died on the cross to make us perfect and righteous! God will never judge the believer because Christ’s one sacrifice was enough to make us PERFECT forever! There is no condemnation for those in Christ.

Hebrews 10

The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
    but a body you prepared for me;
with burnt offerings and sin offerings
    you were not pleased.
Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, my God.’”

First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more.”

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

Romans 8

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

We are holy and blameless in Christ – in Him and not our works! We are forgiven all sins given this lavish grace! God will never judge us but declares us holy and blameless in Christ!

Ephesians 1

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us

2nd Corinthians 10

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

We always win the battle by the obedience of Christ !! We point to the cross of Jesus and not our works!

Ephesians 6

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

We put on the armor of God because we have nothing of our own to defend ourselves! Yes, we must follow common sense and obey the government and medical advice to be safe but eventually, the battle belongs to the Lord – we can do nothing on our own!

We trust in His mighty power and not ourselves!

Truth:

We trust in Christ – He is the only truth! John 1 says that the law was given by Moses but grace AND truth came by Jesus Christ. The law (human efforts) is a lie that cannot save anyone. Mankind cannot be saved from danger by their own efforts. The law represents human effort. The only truth is salvation by GRACE and not our works! The truth is that we are not under the condemnation of the law but under the GRACE of salvation!

Righteousness:

Christ is our Righteousness and not our works!

Peace:

When the Risen Christ appeared to the disciples, He showed His nail-pierced hands saying “peace be with you”. The Gospel of Jesus gives us peace knowing that our sins are forgiven by His death on the cross.

Faith:

The shield of faith is our trusting in Christ to save us from all evil. We are righteous by faith and not our works. We trust in Jesus and not ourselves.

Salvation:

The helmet of salvation is our hope that He will save us. We are saved by grace through faith and we believe in hope waiting to see the salvation from all these problems.

Pray in the Spirit:

Sometimes we don’t know how or what to pray. So then we can pray in the Holy Spirit in tongues or otherwise. We must pray always for protection and confess our faith through prayer.

This is how we can overcome this enemy by the blood of Christ and the word of our testimony.

Declare with your mouth that you are righteous in Christ.

Say this with me:

I am the righteousness of God in Christ.

I am not righteous by my works but I am righteous by Christ alone!

I am perfect by Christ’s blood, forgiven past, present and future sins!

I am holy and blameless in Christ alone and not my efforts.

There is no condemnation for me!
