Dear Friends,
I am aware that many of the followers of the Israel-Only doctrine have stopped believing in Christ and have become atheist/agnostic/etc. I have nothing personal against such people and they may be good citizens. But this Israel-Only doctrine does remove our eternal salvation. The teaching is false and against Jesus-Christ.
The Israel-Only doctrine uses several verses out of context to prove it’s validity while it ignores the clear evidence that Jesus Christ did save people from the nations.
Some of you have had salvation/healing experiences by faith in Christ in the past. This does prove that Jesus is still saving people today.
If we look at the scriptures honestly, we will see that Jesus did save and bless people based on the simple criteria of faith and not based on racial/national heritage:
Matthew 15
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” 25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” 27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Jesus told the Canaanite (Gentile) woman that he was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel so he initially denied the miracle to her because the children’s bread (salvation/healing) was for Israel and was not for the dogs (Gentiles). It was really a test of her faith – but she persisted and said that the Gentiles (dogs) could eat the crumbs. She did not just have faith, but GREAT FAITH. Jesus commended her GREAT faith and gave not just the crumbs but the children’s bread to the Gentile! This proves that salvation was not restricted only to the Israelites. This Gentile woman had greater faith than most of the Israelites – who crucified Christ.
Another example is found here: A Roman centurion also received the blessing of Israel by his GREAT faith that was compared to the faith of Abraham! His faith was greater than anyone in Israel – and this is why he would enter the kingdom.
Matthew 8
5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” 7 Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” 8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”10 When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.
Jesus did not save people based on their nationality/race but only based on their FAITH – from ALL nations – from east to west! They would join Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – the patriarchs of Israel – based on their faith and not their nationality.
This is why Abraham was made righteous BEFORE he was circumcised! His justification was not tied to circumcision or the law! He was righteous before the law came! Abraham was righteous by faith and not by the circumcision of the law.
Romans 4
9 Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness. 10 Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! 11 And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. 12 And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised. 16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
We are the seed of Abraham only IF we believe in Christ.
Galatians 3
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by FAITH we might receive the PROMISE of the SPIRIT.
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through FAITH, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The scripture DOES NOT say that only the descendants of Abraham belong to Christ, but it clearly says that IF WE have FAITH in CHRIST, then we are Abraham’s seed.
The promise of Abraham was the HOLY SPIRIT – given to ALL who believe – Jew, Gentile, male and female! God did not have any favorites! Forget about Jew or Gentile, but God did not distinguish even between male and female! This clearly shows that the Gospel was not restricted to the lost tribes of Israel. If God gave salvation without distinguishing between Male and Female, then how can we say that He only gave salvation to the lost tribes of Israel and nobody else?
Abraham’s blessing was NOT based on the Law or genealogy! It was based on FAITH.
Abraham was a pagan living in the nations after the Flood. There was no Israelite or circumcision when he was called by God. Abraham was righteous BY FAITH and not by race or circumcision. Therefore the children of Abraham are also those who have the same faith of Abraham – by believing in Jesus alone!
But didn’t Jesus tell the Apostles to ONLY go to Israel and NOT go to the Samaritans or Gentiles?
Matthew 10
5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.”
We see this was ONLY true BEFORE the Cross. Christ’s earthly ministry was to the Jews alone.
But we see in John 4 that Jesus himself went to the Samaritan town and stayed there for 2 days and many of them believed in Him saying He is the SAVIOR of the WORLD! The world here cannot only mean Israel because the Samaritans were their worst enemies. The Samaritans were earlier part of the northern kingdom that became pagan and were no longer worshipping the same God.
John 4
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers. 42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”
After Christ rose from the dead, we see that Jesus EXPANDS the Gospel to the entire world.
Acts 1
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
We see on the day of Pentecost, 3000 Jews were saved in Jerusalem. But after the death of Stephen, we see the Apostles preaching to the Samaritans – who were from the northern kingdom of Israel (10 tribes).
Acts 8
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. 3 But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. 4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city.
So then the Gospel was preached in Samaria.
But Now God was going to ROCK the world of the Apostles – by showing Peter that He made ALL nations CLEAN and eligible for salvation through Jesus’ death on the cross.
God never gave any special vision for them to preach to the Samaritans who were from the 10 tribes of Israel. But He gave Peter a vision to preach to the Gentiles. Therefore the Gentiles are NOT the 10 tribes of Israel.
Acts 10
27 While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. 28 He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call ANYONE impure or unclean.
34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism 35 but accepts from EVERY NATION the one who fears him and does what is right. 36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of ALL. 37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets testify about him that EVERYONE who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
So then the GENTILES/NATIONS were now being saved by faith in Christ. There was no longer any restriction between Israel or the other nations!
Acts 13
14 From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down. 16 Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and said: “Fellow Israelites and you Gentiles who worship God, listen to me 26 “Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent. 27 The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. 28 Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed. 29 When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. 30 But God raised him from the dead,
44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” 48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
Paul quoted Isaiah 49 where there was a CLEAR distinction between the 12 tribes of Israel/Jacob AND the Gentiles (nations) to the ENDS of the EARTH(planet).
Isaiah 49 he says:
“It is TOO SMALL a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will ALSO make you a light for the Gentiles,
that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”
If only Israelites from the 12 tribes were saved, it would be TOO SMALL A THING for God!! That is why Jesus came to SAVE THE ENTIRE WORLD – the nations/Gentiles to the ends of the earth.
Most of the Israelites had rejected Christ because they trusted in the Law.
Romans 9
30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. 32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
Romans 10
Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
But Paul said that God would save EVERYONE who called upon the name of JESUS – both Jew and Gentile
“The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Paul said that MOST of the Israelites rejected the Gospel except a REMNANT.
Romans 11
I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”? 4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
Israel had rejected the Gospel so that it would go to the Gentiles/nations who accepted it.
11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
Clearly, there is a difference between the Israelite and the Gentile. The rejection by the Israelites resulted in blessing to the believing Gentiles. So then Paul looked forward to the full inclusion of the Israelite believers!
Paul said that he preached to the Gentiles hoping to arouse JEALOUSY and save some of them when they saw God’s favor on the Gentiles!
13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15 For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
The Gentiles were grafted in by faith but one day the full number of Israelites would also be saved by faith!
22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
Paul said that the MYSTERY was described here:
25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved.”
Paul’s MYSTERY was this: Israel was hardened UNTIL ALL the Gentile believers were saved. AFTER that, Israel’s unbelief would be REMOVED! The FULL remnant of the Israelite believers would come in AFTER the full number of Gentile believers were saved. In that way the “ALL Israel” would be saved.
“ALL Israel” was NOT the fullness of Gentiles. This is a big mistake of Israel-Only!
Paul clearly shows that the fullness of Gentiles IS NOT “ALL Israel”. They are TWO Distinct groups as we see in the context of the chapter.
Paul had already preached the Gospel to ALL Gentiles in Colossians 1
21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
So AFTER Paul had finished preaching to the Gentiles in THAT Generation,…then God opened the eyes of the FULL number of the REMNANT of Israeli believers.
This was the 144,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel in Revelation 7. John wrote the book of Revelation a few years BEFORE 70AD – these were the LAST hour or final harvest before the END of the Age. Jesus said that the Gospel would be preached to ALL nations for the purpose of saving the lost sheep of Israel until the END of the Mosaic Age.
The Gospel was preached to the Gentiles to provoke jealousy among the Jews before they perished in their last generation of the old covenant. The Gospel was preached in all the nations where Jews were found in the synagogues. When they rejected the gospel, it went to the gentiles and when they were fully saved, the full remnant of Israelis were added in the last days before 70AD.
In the old Covenant before Christ, we see that the Gentile nations were CUT OFF from God and had no hope. God only chose Israel for the covenant of blessing. The only way for the gentiles to be blessed was to join the covenant of Israel by circumcision or marriage. We see Rahab and Naaman among others who were blessed when they blessed Israel.
The Old heaven and earth was the Old Covenant Israel that was destroyed in the 1st Century. The New heaven and earth is the New Covenant that began on the Cross of Jesus Christ and continues FOREVER.
The New Covenant is an everlasting covenant but the Old Covenant lasted for 1500 years. The period between 30AD and 70AD was the transition period between the Old and New Covenants. The New Covenant did not end in 70AD !! Otherwise, it would have been far shorter than the old and fading law (Age of Moses). How can the new everlasting covenant be SHORTER than the old fading covenant? The Kingdom of God came in Christ – the law was canceled on the cross and destroyed in 70AD but the kingdom of God continues forever in the new covenant.
The fact that Paul preached to entire Gentile cities is proof that the Gospel did not end in 70AD. The fact that pagans believed in Jesus, shows that the Gospel is still very relevant to the nations after 70AD. The reason the Gospel was preached urgently to all nations where the Jews lived, was to somehow save them before the end of their Law – the last generation of the Israelites under the law.
After 70AD, we see that the New heaven and earth is the Body of Christ – Jesus Himself with God the Father and the saints who were resurrected in 70AD. In this New Heaven and Earth, we see that the nations are outside the city. The gates are open and the glory of the nations enter the city by FAITH in Christ, washing their robes. The nations are being healed (saved) by the Gospel of Christ (Tree of life)
Revelation 21
22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the NATIONS will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it”
Revelation 22
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the NATIONS. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.
My dear friends, please REJECT the heresy of Israel-Only – this teaching is anti-Christ because you are denying Christ’s salvation for yourself and others who believe in this doctrine. You are not entering the kingdom yourselves NOR do you allow others to enter it by promoting it everywhere.
I believe this is being done in ignorance just like I did it in the past few months. I made the same mistake – But, the good news is that we can still correct our course.
I have repented from this false doctrine after experiencing my own pain in leaving Christ. There is no other God who gives you the free gift of salvation by His death on the cross – except Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ came to save both Jew and Gentile – ALL nations – by grace through faith in His name.
The Gospel until 70AD was for the Israelites in all nations and all the gentiles who heard it in that generation.
The Gospel continues AFTER 70AD to the rest of the nations beckoning us all to enter the New Jerusalem by faith in Christ.
Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and raised from the dead on the third day.
Everyone who BELIEVES in Jesus will receive the forgiveness of sins, eternal life and the gift of righteousness.
Jesus said this:
John 5
24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
When a person believes in Christ, they receive the Holy Spirit and when they die, they are resurrected into the New Jerusalem to be with Jesus forever – where there is no death, tears or sorrow. But if a person rejects Christ, then they will perish outside the gates of the city.
I implore you – please do not reject the FREE Gift of salvation.
I write this in love, my friends, please do not let our frustrations with religion and belief in this incorrect Israel-Only theology rob the eternal salvation in Christ. If you have left Christ for any reason – today is the day of salvation.
Please return to your FIRST LOVE – JESUS CHRIST who loved you and gave His life for you so that you will not perish but receive ETERNAL LIFE by simple faith in Him.
God Bless you all.
