Grace in weakness

God’s grace is for the weak. If you have been disqualified by the world then I want to share the good news that Jesus died for you to give you His grace. If you are weak and cannot meet the demands of religion or society then you are a candidate for grace! If you find it hard to believe and be in faith then know that Daddy God’s unconditional love is for you. If you find it hard to love yourself or please other people then know that Daddy God is well pleased with you and loves you with all His heart!

Mark 2 ” 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Jesus came for sinners. The word “sin” means to fall short of the mark. It means to fall short of the expectations/demands/standards. This can be the law or morality or every area of society (family, career, education, money, health, etc). Jesus came for the weak – not for the strong. Yes He died for the entire world, but only the weak can know His grace and love in this life! Jesus came for those who are unable to do it. For those who are failures in the eyes of the world.

This is why Jesus identified Himself with the lowly. He is the God who created everything and owns all the riches and yet He was born in a poor family. He was not born in a royal family or in a priestly tribe. He came from Nazareth from where nothing good came! His disciples were not the top scholars in the Sanhedrin but they were the rejects of society – filthy fishermen, betraying tax-collectors, prostitutes and all those who were condemned by the world!

1st Corinthians 1 “26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

It’s because it is man’s natural tendency to boast in his own abilities! But the gospel is for the weak because Christ is our righteousness, holiness and wisdom!

When God created Adam, He gave him everything freely as a gift – all the food, provision and the entire earth! But God had created Adam as naked! Can you imagine that? The most powerful man on earth was naked! He was created in weakness but in amazing grace! But when Adam decided to become strong on his own efforts (knowing right/wrong), he saw his nakedness and had to struggle to be blessed on earth! Why did God create Adam naked? It’s because God loved him the way he was – God said “It is good”. Adam did not need to be improved or become better because he was GOOD! God never wanted Adam to know his flaws but only know Daddy’s love (tree of life)! The grace was given in weakness!

If you look at every Bible story we find that grace was given in weakness! We see that God chose Abraham to have a child near the age of 100 years – at the time when he was as good as dead! God chose Israel for the promised land when they were in slavery! God chose Moses to lead Israel but he could do it only after he was rejected by his own people & was a nobody in the wilderness! God chose Rahab the prostitute to save the spies in Jericho!

After Jesus died and rose again, we see that Peter was the main Apostle of the Jews. But do you know that Jesus chose Peter in his greatest weakness! Peter had promised to die for Christ and boasted in his own devotion for Jesus! But Jesus loved him knowing that he would deny him 3 times. Peter denied Christ 3 times with cursing and swearing in front of a little girl! That was how weak Peter was! But Jesus made him an apostle by grace!

What about Paul?

1st Corinthians 15 “For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.”

1st Corinthians 2 “And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.”

Paul was a laughing stock among his fellow Jews. He had powerfully persecuted the church in the name of the law but then Jesus met him and he was blinded for 3 days! He was weakened and the Jews mocked him for being a Gospel preacher for the faith that he was earlier trying to destroy! This man was the most qualified teacher of the law but now here he was in weakness!

He had no eloquence in his preaching because he was preaching against the very law he defended all his life! He was a failure in the eyes of the Jews but he preached in the power of the Spirit!

2nd Corinthians 12 “he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

My friends, if you are weak then Christ came for you!

He became sin on the cross to make you righteous!

He became poor to make you rich!

He became cursed to bless you!

He did ALL of this freely for you!

Revelation 21 “There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

The old things have passed away. Judgment Day is over. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega who finished the work and He is making ALL things new in your life! IT IS FREE for those who are thirsty!

You may be weak in faith but Christ is your faith!

You may not love yourself and the world may say that you are weak/have failed, but Jesus loves you and He’s your strength! He is your righteousness! He suffered to bless you! It is FREELY given to you!

Daddy God’s unconditional love is for those who could not meet the conditions!

Daddy God has qualified those who were disqualified by the world!

The truth is that all of us are weak and thirsty in varying degrees – some of us know it, some don’t….but Daddy loves ALL for us!

To those who are weak and thirsty – to those who cannot do it (all of us) – I tell you the good news – your Daddy God has done it for you! Daddy loves you so desperately that He died on the cross to BLESS YOU FREELY

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross for our sins and was raised from the dead after 3 days. Everyone who believes in Jesus receives the forgiveness of sins, eternal life and the righteousness of God as a free gift.
